[Jack is wandering on one of the edges of the city, getting steadily closer to the Wastes. When he sees the PCD's activated, he speaks in a crisp and business-like voice.]

The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond have gone home. The Tenth is -- that shouldn't happen. Not here, he should -- ...Dammit. [A sigh.]

[It's not long until Jack arrives, limping only slightly now that he's almost completely healed. He gives the other captain the smallest of smiles, pulling a bottle out of his pocket.]

Don't tell Ianto, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to take alcohol without asking.

The Doctor's not from Earth. He travels through time and space in his ship, called the TARDIS.

We fight aliens. Cover up things, if there's any artifacts on Earth. It's sort of fun, really.

So you're a part of this Torchwood, which is a sort of...defense program against aliens, which was specifically established to keep an eye on the Doctor, who is also an alien with a time traveling spaceship?
