[Hello, Adstringers! You are being treated this evening with the lovely sight of one Captain Jack Harkness swigging from a dust-covered bottle of whiskey, seated in the casino. Dusty or not, it's still alcohol, and thus worthy of his attentions. He takes one last long swig, wipes his lips, and then turns his attention to the PCD.]

Right, I've had about enough of this place. Never liked being anyone's toy, and other than that, it's bloody boring the rest of the time. So. Let's have some excitement, shall we?

[He turns, draws his gun, and promptly shoots out a few of the casino windows. When he turns back to the PCD, he's just smirking.]

He does nothing of the sort, sir. And I shall hardly take the words of a drunkard into consideration.

And you trust me when I say he has not done such a thing here. He has been nothing but kind and gentlemanly. He has repented his crimes, and should not be judged upon them here, when he has done nothing here to deserve such negative judgment. Is your own history completely free of blame, sir? I know not your past, only how you behave here. And here, you threaten my friends and mock them.

[Glare.]

You spout enough nonsense that it is easy to believe you are thusly afflicted.

[There is actually a hint of satisfaction in her eyes when he smirks and gives his flippant answer.]

And your arrogance and pride will not let you admit the possibility that he is truly repentant of what he has done. I shall pray for you when I twist my knife, should it come to that.

[And she smiles. It looks more like one of Tybalt's smiles than her own, one he wears when he comes across Benvolio in the streets.]

Yes? What is it you would ask of me? Perhaps I may grant it, sir, if it is not too troublesome a request.

Because I know he's not innocent and he never will be. I know denial can be tough, love, but you really just have to push through it. [But her last sentence gets a small, dangerous smile. Jack knows full well he's done unpleasant things, and he doesn't quite like being reminded of it by this little lady.]

Do you think it's going to come to that? Because I'd really like to see you try.

I never claimed he was innocent. I said he was a good person in this place, because that is what he has been. He has admitted that he did horrible things in his past, but what man has not? But he has repented, and his actions here speak to that repentance being genuine.

Should you harm my dear friend, it will come to that. I may be only a woman, sir,, but I am a Capulet by birth and a Montague by marriage. Such things are in my blood. We are passionate people, Capulets and Montagues, and we protect those whom we hold dear. And we are vicious in our vengeance.

Fine, then, believe what you like. I obviously can't change your mind.
