[Hello, Adstringers! You are being treated this evening with the lovely sight of one Captain Jack Harkness swigging from a dust-covered bottle of whiskey, seated in the casino. Dusty or not, it's still alcohol, and thus worthy of his attentions. He takes one last long swig, wipes his lips, and then turns his attention to the PCD.]

Right, I've had about enough of this place. Never liked being anyone's toy, and other than that, it's bloody boring the rest of the time. So. Let's have some excitement, shall we?

[He turns, draws his gun, and promptly shoots out a few of the casino windows. When he turns back to the PCD, he's just smirking.]

[She chuckles, giving her head a slight shake.] And what, pray tell, would be causing such noises?

I'm amused that you automatically take me for a screamer.

I try to be as tempting as possible. The fact that you haven't asked for my coordinates or given me yours yet makes me wonder if I'm succeeding.

[And the transmission ends. Ten minutes later, a young witch wearing something just a little more low-cut than she's used to walks in, and it doesn't take her long to sidle up next to Jack, as though there'd been no pause in the conversation.]

[Jack will be giving her a very approving look and a bit of a wolf-whistle.]

Captain Jack Harkness, and I am very pleased to meet you, lovely.

[Oh, she appreciates that look, even if it's not accompanied by her usual blush.] Captain? And just what sort of captain are you?

[He settles back on his stool.] The interesting sort.

That remains to be seen. [She looks him over for a moment before deigning to offer her hand.] I'm Hermione Granger.

[And he will take that hand and kiss it, because old habits tend to die hard, even with personality swaps.]

Lovely to meet you, Hermione Granger. [He knows who she is, obviously, but damn if he's going to admit to that or anything.]

[She looks vaguely surprised by the kiss to her hand, but whether it's a pleasant kind of surprise or vaguely disappointed is hard to tell.] Mm. Again, that remains to be seen. I could well ruin your entire evening, and then meeting me wouldn't be so lovely, would it?

[He still makes an attempt at charming, even when he's being an ass the rest of the time.]

Oh, and how would you do that?

I don't know. I could be painfully dull. I've been accused of it before... though, admittedly, not recently.

[A bit of a lopsided smirk.]

Ah, all right, just checking. It would have been a shame if I'd worn this and you weren't looking at them. I might as well have stuck with one of the more conservative jumpers in my wardrobe and save myself the chill.
